We are pleased to announce that the 10th British Congress of Mathematics Education (BCME 10) will be held on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026 at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
BCME 10 aims to strengthen connections between classroom practice and educational research, ensuring that discussions, workshops, and presentations are firmly grounded in evidence‑informed mathematics teaching and learning. The conference offers a valuable platform for professional growth, collaboration, and innovation across the mathematics education community.
This landmark event will bring together teachers, researchers, and practitioners from across the UK to explore the conference theme: Research and Practice in Partnership. Through shared inquiry and dialogue, BCME 10 seeks to foster meaningful partnerships that enhance both research and classroom practice.
Event programme
The 2‑day event will be packed with over 50 engaging sessions including seminars, symposia, workshops, roundtable discussions, and poster presentations, alongside networking opportunities to connect with other researchers and practitioners. There will also be four keynote sessions, including a presentation from Andy Noyes, Professor of Education at the University of Nottingham and the founding Director of the Observatory for Mathematical Education. Further keynote speakers will be announced soon.
Who should attend?
BCME 10 is for all people involved in mathematics and mathematics education in all age groups, from early years to further and higher education. This includes those currently teaching and supporting mathematics, those researching mathematics education, those involved in professional development and teacher education, mentors, consultants and curriculum developers.
Submit an abstract
We are now inviting submissions of abstracts for a range of session formats. We welcome contributions from teachers, academics and other stakeholders actively engaged in mathematics education, research and practice. Proposers of any accepted research‑based submission will be invited to write a paper for peer review and potential inclusion in the conference Proceedings.
