BSRLM New Researchers' Day Conference (virtual)
Friday 3rd July 2020
Given the current situation regarding Covid-19 the BSRLM Executive has taken the decision to cancel the next planned Day Conference which was due to take place at the University of Leeds on 12th and 13th June. Our local organisers have been able to reschedule their conference to 11th and 12th June 2021. The next planned Day Conference is now due to be held in Edinburgh on 14th November 2020.
However, we are pleased to announce that a virtual New Researchers' Day will take place on 3rd July 2020.
The 2020 BSRLM summer day conference and New Researchers' Day have been cancelled. However, we are please to announce that a virtual New Researchers' Day will be held on Friday 3rd July 2020 from 10:30am to 4pm (time to be confirmed). This conference is aimed at PhD or Masters students in mathematics education, teachers and others new(ish) to research. Those who have attended NRDs previously are welcomed. The conference provides an opportunity for relatively inexperienced researchers to share their own research and to hear about the research of others in similar positions to themselves. The morning and afternoon sessions with a keynote (Geoff Wake and Jennie Golding) addressing some general research issues. Parallel sessions of 40 minutes each will follow. There will be a limit on numbers of attendees in order to allow opportunities for discussion (maximum 40); priority will obviously be given to early career researchers on a first come, first served basis. Anyone wanting to attend the conference needs to be, or become, a member of BSRLM. There is no conference fee, but registration in advance is required.
