The deadline for submitting abstracts for BCME 10 is this coming Tuesday, May 5th.
BCME 10 will take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026 and promises to be energising and inspirational. We have four great plenary speakers lined up, a wide variety of stimulating sessions, and a social-with-a-hint-of-maths Friday evening planned!
BCME 10 replaces the usual Autumn BSRLM conference this year, but will follow a familiar format of plenary sessions and a varied parallel session delivered over two full days. As an entirely face-to-face research-practice conference, BCME keeps us grounded in the fundamental rationales for our work and, through our interactions, strengthening our wider mathematics education community. A key feature of the conference is its strong focus on classroom practice alongside research in mathematics education. BCME is also great fun, offering opportunities for cross-phase professional learning, research inspiration, and hands-on mathematical activity.
We welcome proposals for seminars, symposia, workshops, round tables, posters, particularly those focused on a research-practice interface. Abstracts can be submitted until 5th May 2026 via the BCME website: Submit an Abstract.
By presenting at the conference, you may also like to develop your research-focused work into a short paper that can be submitted for the peer-reviewed and BSRLM-hosted BCME 10 Proceedings, led by Jenni Ingram. BSRLM (and AMiE) members are also eligible for reduced conference rates, and bursaries and special rates for block bookings are also available. Registration is now open so we hope to see you there!
